Lake Trasimeno Loop Tour
An entire lake to experience by bike
There are many ways to discover Lake Trasimeno. One of the most engaging is to cycle all the way around it.
The Lake Trasimeno Loop Tour is a circular route of about 58 km, taking cyclists through the many different faces of the lake: waterfront villages, small harbours, countryside, natural landscapes and views that continuously change along the way.
The tour starts in Passignano sul Trasimeno and, kilometre after kilometre, completes the full circuit of the lake before returning to the starting point.
A full day on two wheels. An entire lake to ride around. An experience to remember.

The complete Lake Trasimeno loop
From Passignano, the route heads towards Tuoro sul Trasimeno, passing through the Campo del Sole area before continuing along the western shore towards Castiglione del Lago.
Here, the lakeside is an ideal place to stop, take a break and look back at the distance already covered from a completely new perspective.
From Castiglione, the tour continues along the southern part of the lake, where the landscape becomes more open and natural.
The route reaches Sant'Arcangelo and the Oasi La Valle area, where water, vegetation and the lake environment become a central part of the experience.
It then climbs north towards San Feliciano, with its small harbour overlooking the lake, before continuing towards Monte del Lago.
From here, the final kilometres gradually lead back to Passignano sul Trasimeno, completing the loop.
The same starting point.
But after almost 60 kilometres around an entire lake.
More than just kilometres
The appeal of the Lake Trasimeno Loop is not simply the distance.
It is seeing the same lake constantly change its appearance.
A village seen from the opposite shore.
A stretch surrounded by nature.
A small harbour.
A break by the lake.
A view worth stopping for a little longer.
The bicycle allows you to ride around the lake.

MTB and Gravel bikes are particularly suitable for the variety of the route, while an e-bike allows you to manage your effort more easily and dedicate more energy to discovering the territory.
Before you set off
The route requires several hours of cycling, so allow enough time, carry water and always check weather conditions, traffic conditions and the actual state of the route.
The GPX track is a navigation aid and does not replace signs and directions found along the route.
And above all:
do not rush.
If you find a place where you want to stop, stop.
That is exactly what cycle tourism is all about.
